Bokeh Focus is the photography platform published by the Center for Sustainable Journalism at Kennesaw State University. Youth Photos, Youth Focus: We are a platform for professional, amateur and youth photographers to showcase photography of youth and the world through the eyes of youth from around the world.
We are excited to be collaborating with young photographers from the metro Atlanta area, the nation and the world around the topic of living in isolation during and after the COVID-19 crisis. This year’s theme, The New World: Isolation, will feature the work of young photographers depicting what the new world of isolation looks like for them. The project culminates with the top photographers featured in a virtual exhibit on Nov. 13. The exhibit will gain additional traction by running in tandem with the annual Atlanta Celebrates Photography and our annual fundraiser, NewsMatch.
This exhibit displays work from Atlanta-based photographers showing how COVID-19 has affected the city and its surrounding communities. We’ll also feature work from photographers from around the world showcasing famous landmarks and how the coronavirus has directly altered social and public behavior. Photographers hone in on the influences of isolation and how that looks in their communities.
It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the partnership of CSJ’s Bokeh Focus with the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, CA. Our November 2020 photography exhibit and upcoming 2021 initiatives will launch in collaboration with Getty and their award-winning Unshuttered photography program. Getty Unshuttered at the J. Paul Getty Museum is generously supported by the Genesis Inspiration Foundation.
